Examples of Multitasking Mistakes and Why to Avoid Them

  • Texting and Driving – Texting while driving is dangerous. This is because the brain becomes oblivious to the road every time you focus on the phone.
  • Listening to Distracting Music and Working – Distracting music will periodically take your attention away from the task at hand. This will drastically decrease your productivity.
  • Interacting With Your Phone While Having a Conversation – Checking your notifications or responding to a text while conversing in person decreases your attention to the conversation. This will comes off as rude and can damage relationships.
  • Thinking About Tomorrow While Working Today – Thinking about the future consequences of not completing a task while working on said task will distract you and decrease your ability to concentrate. Set a separate time for thinking about the future apart from work.
  • Watching TV and Working -Having the TV on in the background will periodically take your attention away from your work and decrease your productivity and focus.
